The Mill (Gasthaus zur Mühle)
Located in a quiet valley, ten minute drive from Straßlach/Grünwald and about 30 minutes from downtown, The Mill location is perfect for walking, so park higher up and walk down. The Mill offers a beergarden in summer and inside dining in the winter. Watch your head going in! The building is from 1807, and the ceilings are not as high as we expect them today. The atmosphere is much like that of being in at home. The family who own The Mill are friendly and accomodating. The food is hearty and not very expensive. This is the perfect place for Sunday afternoon in the beergarden, or Sunday evening next to the fireplace.

Die Goldene Bar
If you like art, architecture, and cocktails, then you will like The Golden Bar in the famous Haus der Kunst located near Odeonsplatz and the US Embassy. Here you can relax with a pastrami sandwich and a beer, or potatoe soup and a glass of white wine. But don’t miss the cocktails! The Golden Bar published a book of its signature cocktails which you can browse or purchase.The bar dates from 1937, and gets its name from the famous wall paintings by Karl Heinz Dallinger which were comissioned by the architect Ernst Haiger. Until about 19:00 you still have the chance to get a table near the bar, later you might still find a place outside – the bar is extremely popular especially on the weekends. It is a perfect after-work destination.

Boulangerie Dompierre
If you miss Paris, or simply can’t get there, then visit the Bakery Dompierre.. There are many locations in Munich, but near our office in Glockenbachviertel is a particularly nice one. Freshly made pastries, breads, scrumptious eclairs, perfect coffees. There is not much room to sit but you should be going back to the office anyway! The perfect something for your hands after lunch or in the morning between brainstormings.
